Luiza Soezima

Hello there! Welcome to my homepage!

I am Luiza Soezima, and I am currently studying the MSc. at Grenoble INP - Université Grenoble Alpes in Grenoble, France.

I pursued a BSc. in Computer Science at Instituto de Matemática e Estatística - Universidade de São Paulo, in São Paulo, Brazil (I am also from São Paulo, Brazil) and during the bachelor thesis I was supervised by Hilder Vitor Lima Pereira and Alfredo Goldman.

Currently my main topics of interest are FHE(Fully Homomorphic Encryption), PIR(Private Information Retrieval), PSI(Private Set Intersection) and PSU(Private Set Union).

My goals

I wish to pursue a successful academic career by obtaining a master’s and a Ph.D. in cryptography and cybersecurity.

I am also eager to be a role model for young female scientists from Latin America, especially from Brazil. I want to inspire, guide, and help them overcome educational challenges.

I am aware that by sharing my experiences, participating in conferences, and advocating for equitable opportunities, I will be able to amplify the voices of female scientists in LATAM region, fostering diversity, inclusion, and empowerment in the global scientific community.

A bit more about me

Besides crypto, maths and computer science, I love music. I have played classical piano since I was 5 years old and I strongly believe that music is one of the most touching experessions of the human soul.

Facing a world where women and Latin Americans in science are a minority boosts my commitment to broaden my horizons and pursue inclusivity daily, trying to reduce the diversity gap in science and technology.

Through these experiences, I have learned we must value our sentimental expression and social empathy.

What makes you a distinguished mind is not constantly being great but doing the best with what you have and striving to better society.
